I design and ship products that matter. With 11+ years of professional design experience and 7+ years focused on UX and product design, I've led cross-functional teams to solve complex problems through rigorous research and clear communication. My work at ACV Auctions and across automotive marketplaces has shaped how I approach product strategy, user research, and organizational alignment.
What I Do
Product Rationalization
Audit portfolios, eliminate redundancy, and design consolidation strategies that free capacity.
Mobile-First Design
Redesign for context, not just scale: Market Report on the lot, ClearCar's dealer portal, and MAX on mobile.
AI Integration
Put AI where it earns trust: AI damage detection in ClearCar's offers, and AI-assisted workflows for my own design team.
Research-Led Design
Use rigorous research to uncover problems others miss and back solutions with data.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Own strategy to execution, connecting teams with competing incentives toward shared goals.
Beyond the screen
How I lead.
The best design work I've done keeps paying off after I've moved on, because it changed how the team works, not just what it shipped.
01 Set the team's operating rules
I co-owned how ACV Retail plans and hands off work: plan the big picture first, one ticket per deliverable, and no blocker sits for more than two business days. Then I modeled it, with every handoff including the prototype, acceptance criteria, every state, and accessibility notes.
02 Build systems others reuse
I led the white-label component work behind Guaranteed Sale: audits, three standardization workshops with design and engineering, written guidelines, and the component build. Designs estimated at 20+ weeks took under 10.
03 Design in code
For ClearCar's 2026 customer offer widget, the design lived in a live Storybook prototype, not static mockups. I joined engineering code review and fixed real bugs before handoff.
04 Put AI to work, carefully
I wrote ACV's playbook for using Claude to create in-product guides: templates, tone rules, and sequencing, so any designer can draft guides and prototypes quickly while staying consistent.
05 Measure what ships
For MAX's mobile "Take Into Inventory" flow, I built tracking into the handoff so the team could see starts, completions, and errors from day one. It launched with zero critical issues.
06 Share what I learn
Weekly UX updates for ACV Retail, an onboarding deck for new partners, a Tech Talk for non-designers on dealer negotiation, and presentations at ACV's Research & Design Journal.
How I Work
Discover
Every project begins with understanding. I talk to users, map their jobs to be done, identify workflows, and separate signal from noise. This prevents addressing the wrong problem—which is worse than solving the right problem poorly.
Define
Once I've diverged and explored, I narrow. Constraints force prioritization and eliminate the unnecessary. I devote substantial effort to stakeholder communication, ensuring alignment before exploring solutions. Great design fails without alignment.
Develop
With the problem clearly defined, I explore solutions. Every major decision is backed by research, metrics, or prototyping. I generate multiple directions, test them, and let data guide which to pursue.
Deliver
Success isn't measured by deliverables shipped. It's measured by whether the solution moved key metrics, achieved user adoption, and generated learning for future initiatives. I refine until the work produces real business impact.
Background
Throughout my career, I've focused on the automotive marketplace where product complexity mirrors real-world business challenges. At ACV Auctions and other marketplaces, I've tackled problems at scale—consolidating redundant product lines, unlocking AI capabilities, scaling systems from zero to millions in transactions, and bridging the gap between dealer needs and platform capabilities.
I'm particularly drawn to cross-platform problems where the right answer requires deep research, systems-level thinking, and cross-functional coordination. I work best in environments where constraints force clarity and where design decisions are grounded in data rather than opinion. My approach combines strategic product thinking with hands-on design execution, ensuring that insights translate into user impact and business outcomes.
